I read this book (and cited much of it) for my undergraduate thesis, and I must tell you, this book was wonderful! Very few people have ever put as much time, thought, and research into the process of translation as it relates to J.R.R. Tolkien and his Lord of the Rings book.
The author takes what many may consider a dry topic and brings it to life--I know that I was enthralled for weeks. It is simply astounding the beauty of Tolkien's language choices and the effort and forethought that went into it and the translation thereof.
For anyone who loves Tolkien, loves translation theory, or better yet both: this is a must read! You will walk away with a new appreciation for how much work translation is and yet how important it is.
