I'm only writing this review to draw attention to a really miserly move on IDW's part.
The current ongoing series, not to mention a good number of other IDW books, seem to be releasing in volumes containing just four issues each.
Now, the content of this book, just like its sister title, More than Meets The Eye, is absolutely great. Really amazing. In fact, as comics, they make for five star material all the way. But just four issues to a colected edition? Come on!
To put that into perspective, DC are putting out trades collecting as many as 7 issues apiece at the moment. Image trades routinely collect 5 - 6 issues. Marvel are variable, but hover around the magic 5 issue number.
I'm actually thinking of dropping ALL the IDW books I've been following until they buck their ideas up on this front. It just smacks of them trying to get their hands on more money for less product.
This volume, specifically, contains an annual, and two issues of the ongoing title itself. It works as a really good companion to volume three of More than Meets The Eye. But there needs to be more between the covers.
So: Three stars. Would have been more if I felt I'd got my money's worth. If they'd pulled this crap with Mike Costa's "one speech bubble per page" efforts of a couple of years back, there'd have been major uproar.
