While the first volume was a bit of a letdown it wasn't enoguh to drive me away. Like I said, the Grimlock subplot was the best part, so as soon as it took center stage the comic became awesome again. Grimlock is one of the best characters in the franchise, & I loved seeing him get a cure for the Nucleon. The Hot Rod subplot was interesting as well. I forgot to mention how one of my favorite parts of the last volume was the revelation that the orginal heads of the Headmasters were reattched to new bodies. I understand that alot of Transfans hate them because everything that came after them were just gimmick toys (Targetmasters, Powermasters, Pretenders, etc.), but I thought they were all great characters, especially Nightbeat, and I'm glad when any of them show up. Speaking of Nightbeat, where is he by the way? My least favorite death in Generation 2 was his by far, so I thought Furman would have had a blast writing for him since he's alive again. Ah well, he's probably just saving him for later. The only bad parts were that the Earth subplot still annoyed me a little bit, & Soundwave got blown up! I never thought Furman would kill anyone like that. I guess noTransformer is safe while he's writing. Still, this was a very good volume & gave me new hope for the rest of the series. Volume 3 can't come soon enough.
