Though it’s the second DVD release from the original animated series, Transformers Original Series Volume 2 contains the popular three-part origin story, "More Than Meets the Eye". It tells the story of how this race of alien robots (the evil Decepticons and the heroic Autobots) left their war-torn home planet of Cybertron and arrived on Earth, as well as introducing some of the series’ most popular characters (including Optimus Prime and Megatron), "More Than Meets the Eye" is an essential introduction to the entire Transformers universe. The other three episodes collected here--"Roll For It", "Transport to Oblivion" and "Divide and Conquer"--are less essential to all but the most committed Transformers fan, with animation and a script that’s just not quite up to scratch. Still, as a nostalgia piece at the very least, Transformers Original Series Volume 2 is nothing less than entertaining. --Ted Kord

Yes This Is What We Want!!! The first 6 episodes of The Transformers UNALTERED.
After the mess that was the "Generation 2" DVD it is good to see these episodes in their original form.

If you've already purchased "Volume 1" and "Generation 2" then this disc includes 3 episodes not already part of your collection - "Transport to Oblivion", "Roll For It" and "Divide and Conquer" as well as the original versions of "More Than Meets The Eye Parts 1-3"
I have one minor gripe which is not with this disc itself but rather the order that these 3 volumes (original series: volume 3 to be released later this year) put the episodes in.
The episode order now runs as follows:
08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 14, 15, 16
I don't supose this is really a major problem but if it does bother you, you may want to see if the upcoming boxset puts the episodes in the correct order.
But otherwise here you have another 6 great episodes of The Transformers which will not dissapoint.
Basically - Just Buy It!

When I first brought the three Original Series DVD's I thought I was getting the complete series in Sequance.
Sadly it turns out to be just the reverse, this Volume 2 should have been volume 1, but instead we end up having to watch this 2nd volume in order watch from the very beginning which has the first 6 episodes from the original series in their correct order.
Maverick who designed and produced these DVD's did a very poor job, while the menu setup is ok, having the wrong episodes on each volume and in the wrong order is a huge negative, add to the fact that there is NO extras just makes these DVD's a miss at all costs set, I'd rather buy the Silver Grey Season One box set.
The only reason I can give it one star is because it was a brillant animated series, if it had been any other series, I wouldn't have even given it a single star for such a poorly excuted DVD Release.

This is another brilliant release by Maverick and the cover art is really good (see picture). It turns out they are going to use a theme! The episodes include:
More Than Meets The Eye 1-3(Arival from Cybertron)
Transport To Oblivion
Roll For It
and Divide and Conquer
these last three were the episodes which came after the More Than Meets The Eye pilot and also were never released in the UK.
