My 5yr old got a selection of Transformers toys last Christmas so I'm trying to write up accurate reviews here to hopefully help other parents buy the right ones next year, as these toys seemingly never go out of fashion. This Bumblebee model was the one he first asked us for and, although he's since switched his favourite to Ratchet, he has had great fun with this figure since he got it at Xmas.
GENERAL: Bumblebee stands as tall as the other MechTech Leader figures and looks far cooler in our opinion.
DURABILITY: Looked flimsly when I first saw him but he's a lot more durable than I expected, nothing has broken off, doubt it ever will.
EXTRA KIT: Comes with a gun pack which straps onto his car roof, or onto Bumblebee's back depending which mode he is in. When it's on his back it tends to make it harder for him to stand up as it is quite a heavy gun, however it does feature gun noises and the transformation sound.
TRANSFORMATION: Gosh. As with most other large Transformers toys you may find yourself scratching your head at the less than helpful instructions (complete with small pictures all in grey making it hard to see what you're supposed to be looking at, LOL) but that's the way with all of these toys. These larger figures take over a mammoth 50 moves to transform from robot to vehicle (or vice versa) and it's so tedious at first. We ended up visiting Youtube and watching a video of somebody doing it step by step as we found the manual too unhelpful in the madness which was Christmas day.
