Until now, Optimus Prime never thought he would come face to face with Megatron. The legendary villain was thought to be long ago deactivated, but on Cybertron his power and his evil are still feared. He knows that to face Megatron is to face his own mortality. Megatron, on the other hand, does not know who this young Autobot is, and does not care. All he knows is that the AllSpark is under this fool’s protection. If he will not give it up, Megatron will tear him apart to get it.

The Battle Begins: Optimus Prime and Megatron meet for the first time in the exciting new Transformers Animated series. Witness the first battles of a new legend as the Autobots and Decepticons struggle to control the secrets of the AllSpark. With the help of Sari and their other human friends, Optimus Prime and his loyal companions fight against the evil plotting of Megatron, with the fate of the city in the balance.

Prepare for a fierce face-off with these two opponents. In robot mode, the mighty Optimus Prime figure is poised for battle with his double-handed ion axe, while the menacing-looking Megatron figure will be ready to fight back, wielding a fusion cannon. Convert the cannon to a sword for added battle excitement. Gear up for land versus air combat too, when you convert the figures to Earth Truck and Cybertron Fusion Fighter in vehicle mode. Victory is within reach--but who will claim it? You decide.

    Love this toy almost as much as my 4yr old son - good job as i have to do most of the transforming of it but he's getting the hang of it!

    The DVD is cool to takes me right back to the 80's hehe

    Wouldn't recommend any younger though cause the bits are fiddly - then they say for 5+ anyway.

    bought this toy for my 5 year old son a few months ago. dvd was fine, played well, no problems. optimus prime was very easy to transform. megatron took a bit more effort - had to follow instructions for the first time, after that it was ok, although, my son found it really tricky at first and took a while to get the hang of it. durability isn't that great. the arm of optimus prime came off in the first couple of weeks never to be seen again. the leg on megatron has come off several times when kids have gotten a little over zealous transforming it, but it goes back on quite easily. overall, quite a good toy and kids will like it.

    The transformers and DVD pack were a gift to my son and were cheaper than the high street. The only issue I have is that the DVD gets stuck (pauses) and it was the first time my son watched it. That would be only issue. Otherwise he has been happy with the transformers.

    I struggle to transform these characters for my son without the instructions, but he seems to enjoy playing with them. Dvd is short, but my five year old likes the story.
