I remember when i read this as a kid and knowing it was going to end ,it was heart breaking some of my heros never to be seen again, until now.
This is where it got epic porportions, and epic is not enough, Its a clossol battle,a hopeless batle, with a frigile aliance between the
Autobots and Decepticons, they created this alliance because something big is threatening there homeworld , "Cybertron" and there very existence : Unicorn .
He will stop at nothing to destroy Cybertron and its inhabitants, and the Autobots and Decepticons will stop at nothing, even sacrificing themselves to defend there homeworld, We see bravery sacrifice and heroism ,we also see friendship in all that chaos ,friendship between two enemies.
I cant say anymore otherwise ill ruin the story, get the book read to ur childeren ,remind yourself of your childhood. Buy it

I'm a huge Transformers fan and I have wonderful memories of one of the only decent comic series you could get as a kid in the UK. This was therefore an essential purchase (even though this final arc happened a couple of years after I left it). I'd say I was 90% undisappointed. The story is very well told and, as another reviewer points out, it was essentially a kid's book at the time so it's even more of a suprising (and great) tale. The concept is the kind of thing you came to expect as one of those future/alternate universe tales that popped up in the TF anuals. Except it's not and it's much more epic than they ever were! I already look forward to the next book, poor Grimlock seems to have an air of inevitable tragedy around him especially.

Now my only gripe. The art. I'm a huge comics fan and I'm sure my memory of TF comic art isn't too bad. Yet I can't help feeling that some of this is sub-standard. On closer inspection the pencils are actually fine, they range from ok to pretty good and they certainly have the required TF feel to them. The inking and colouring is what lets it down. The colouring buget never seemed to be very high on TF comics and it certainly seems to be in effect here. The inking on the other hand has no excuse and some of it really doesn't do justice to the pencils. However, in reprint form some of the art can come out unfavourably, plus it is from what was by then a low priority title. Definetly an essential purchase for TF and comics fans alike though.

Originally published back in the early nineties, "All Fall Down" (and its sequel "End Of The Road") collects the last dozen or so issues of the American Transformers comic. At the time it was published, Transformers popularity was waning. The writer, Simon Furman, was a veteran of the UK Transformers comic book, having written a huge amount of material to supplement the US reprints, and began writing for the US book at this late stage in its run. This book begins in the midst of a long running storyline drawing on years of the British book's continuity, which could make it a little hard for first time readers to pick up the story, but it is well worth the effort. Telling the story of the chaos god Unicron's assault on Cybertron, this strip really breaks the mold for liscenced properties. No longer restricted by the toy company, Furman was free to take great liberties, killing off many major characters in the process. The storytelling is epic in scope, and remarkably mature for what was, obsensibly, a childrens book. The art, by british artists Andy Wildman, Steven Baskerville and Geoff Senior, is of an exceptonally high standard, and the colouring by Nel Yomtov is far superior to his work earlier on in the series. All in all, this is an excellent book, highly reccomended to fans of Transformers or just comics fans in general, and should not be thought of as a simple children's book.
