Product Description

TOMAHAWK may be slow, but he's made a career out of taking on DECEPTICONS faster than him, and blowing them out of the sky. He uses himself as bait to draw in overconfident DECEPTICON aces, then he fills the sky around them with heat-seeking missiles. JETBLADE and TERRADIVE don't stand a chance. Turn the tables on enemy forces when you throw this warrior into the fight! Your TOMAHAWK figure is dedicated to destroying any opponent and his snapping pincer accessories will help you two get the job done. If robot combat turns into a chase, convert your hero into combat helicopter vehicle mode and deploy his launching missile accessories from the 'skies'! Recommended For Ages 5 Plus

MY first movie transformer i love it but i have a few gripes.

Pros- Great look, nice paint, and sweet alternate mode.

Cons- Rocket firing mechanism broke from constant firing, legs are hard to pop on to rotor in helicopter, and wings pop off allot during transformation.

Overall great toy and a must buy.
Easily one of the best of the new transformers line 29 Jan 2012

I grew up with the G1 transformers and my 5-year-old really loves them. Tomahawk is easily one of my top 2 transformer toys from any generation (the G1 Skyfire being number 1).

This one is pretty easy to transform, once you get a few tricks down. The modern transformers are generally so complex that the instructions really only give you the broadest idea of what is supposed to happen.

The looks of Tomahawk are awesome, in both attack helo and robot modes. The robot mode is very well articulated giving really good range of motion in all limbs and joints (unlike almost everything from G1). In spite of the relative complexity, both modes are tightly fitted (no major gaps between pieces) and there is almost no wiggling of parts (except for the main rotor).

There are only a few quibbles that prevent a 5-star review.
1) The afore mentioned instructions
2) The upper-wings just don't stay on well... especially during transformation. Fortunately Hasbro figured out how to make reattachable joints, so it's more of an annoyance than a major flaw.
3)(and this is really minor), the main rotor blades always get in the way. In robot mode or during transforming, no matter what you do, you have to bend the blades to get the right change. This bugs me only because of my OCD and the need to make everything perfect.

Well worth the cost.
"you just killed a helicopter with a car!" 21 Feb 2011

Loaded with weapons, as an attack helicopter he looks sleek and dangerous. This is a helicopter Transformer done right! Tomahawk looks amazing in his black paint with gold and gray detailing. The thing that really wow'd me was the ease and simplicity of transformation for a helicopter Transformer. I mean previous ones have either been entirely underwhelming or devastatingly complex.

In Robot mode he has bird like legs/feet which fit the aviation theme. The helicopter cockpit becomes his chest-piece like of the original G1 seeker jets and his head is reminiscent of a pilot's helmet. Interestingly his head/helmet visor is yellow like his cockpit but his eyes are actually light-piped with blue, which adds a greenish affect to this eyes. I live the way his hands flip out and the helicopter tailpieces fold back to forearm armor and a pincher weapon. His missile weapons are spring powered and are pegs and clipped so you have a good choice of placement options.

Tomahawk is one of the must have molds from the Hunt for The Decepticons line. He's easily one of my favorites from this past year. Retailing between 9 and 13 most places he's totally worth every penny. A must have for adult collectors and I'm sure kids will love him. "I was out of bullets."

And remember parents: If you don't like challenging your children, BUY AGE APPROPRIATE.
