I bought this U3 card to take advantage of the Sony AX100 4K (UHD) camcorder's new firmware, which allows for a 100Mbps recording rate. My usual Transcend 90MB/s 600x card would not work at this higher rate of recording (the camera would issue a diagnostic and refuse to run with it) -- but this one worked OK.

Top Tier Performance from Transcend's Top SD Card 1 April 2015
By E. Reagan - Published on Amazon.com
This card is one of the better "fast" cards for the money. Note the W85MB/s speed rating. That refers to the data write speed, which is what matters when using it in your camera. The UHS-I designation means that it uses the new Ultra High Speed bus, type I, which is compatible with newer DSLRs, mirrorless and video cameras. The U-3 rating is a Speed Class 3 rating, which means it is capable of a minimum write speed of 30MB/s - an important spec for 4K video capture on cameras like the GH4 and some of the newer camcorders that shoot 4K and support UHS-I Speed Class 3 SD cards.

I tested this card with Transcend's other 64GB SDXC U3 card (rated at 60MB/s write speed) in the new Nikon D5500. This card performed noticeably better. Shooting RAW + JPEG, it delivered 5fps for 5 frames, then dropped off to 1.75fps. Using the Transcend 60MB/s card, I got 4.8fps for 5 frames, then it choked up to 2 frames at 0.75fps and then continued to chug along at 1.5fps.

Shooting RAW only files, this card gave me 5fps for 7 frames, then consistent at 3fps. In the 60MB/s Transcend card, I got 4.8fps for 7 frames, then only 1.67fps.

Shooting JPEG was probably the biggest disparity though. This card delivered 5fps for 81 frames before it paused a finished off the 19 frames at 5fps for the D5500's 100 frame burst. The 60MB/s card choked at 35 frames at 5fps. Then, it delivered another 17 frames at 3fps and then choked for 3 more frames at 1fps. It finished off the 100 frame burst at 3.6fps for 44 frames.

Finally, testing true read and write speeds, this card delivered 65MB/s write speed and 87MB/s read speed through the card reader in my iMac. Those are admirable sustained speeds for an SDXC card.

While the card is rated as 95MB/s read speed and 85MB/s write speed, those are the maximum speeds for this card. Sustained speeds are always going to be lower. But, as noted above, this card delivers some solid performance.

I have used Transcend before but not with this fast a card. The card is able to keep up with my camera without a problem, even with rapid busts of shots. From past experience and from this card the quality looks very good. The pricing was less than the SanDisk that I compared it to. I will see how this card last over time, but I have been using it for over a month with problems.
Fits the card slot in my laptop... 5 April 2015

I'm bought to have something to fill up the card slot on my laptop:) And also so I cant take some files with me in my pocket.

3yr old Lenovo Laptop card reader is 2.0 USB. Send a 3.5gb windows install iso to and from it = 27 MB/s writes, 68 MB/s reads.
Mixed bag of speeds when sending a folder mix of small files to the drive... very slow writer then. Reads are fast enough to run smaller stand alone type programs off it .. and it makes a nice spot to back up my online OneDrive. Have a feeling my use would have been more cost effective & probably same speeds with their next card down.. 2x capacity, same price for a U3 speed class. Picture gives a good idea how slow.. but windows larger iso file transfer says its faster that this shows;

Bought for my GH4. Does great speed when capturing, even in RAW and 4K video. No errors (I have used Transcend cards for years and have always been pleased with their performance) so far, and they are quite fast when transferring.
