Product Description

The wife of hard-nosed cop Jack Deth (Tim Thomerson) was killed by 'trancers' - zombies under the control of a villain called Martin Whistler. Whistler is also trying to control the council which runs Angel City (formerly Los Angeles) by going back in time to 1985 and killing off their ancestors. Jack goes back too, to destroy Whistler.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cut price Sc-Fi! 7 Dec 2007
By still searching VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
Fifty-cent Sci-Fi with a nod to The Terminator and Blade Runner; features a criminally underused Tim Thomerson and an early outing for Helen Hunt. Despite the budget director Band makes the most of his two `stars' and the plot, involving time travel, murderous zombie henchman and a washed up alcoholic baseball star, provides ample entertainment to keep even the most po-faced critic happy - its funny too! The set design is also sufficiently retro to more than satisfy fans of fifties Sci-Fi classics. One of those gems you'll return to time and again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Zombie waitresses! 31 Dec 2003
By Alex
Format:DVD
His name is Deth. He hunts Trancers. Even in shoulder pads.
Apart from the frightning assumption that there will be an eighties revival in the 23rd century this is a jolly fun outing for Thomerson and Hunt.
Both look good and despite the low budget give convincing performances. Good fun is had by all without losing any of the integrity or drama.
A worthy film that perhaps does not get the recognition it deserves.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Dry hair's for squids." 3 Sep 2003
By A Customer
Format:DVD
Charles Band's low-budget gem creaks into the 21st century. It's a budget title for a reason, as the DVD transfer looks like its been taken from a well-used rental video copy and, despite being a "proper" movie, is presented here only in 4:3 full screen format. Technological disappoinments aside, Trancers is still an enjoyable, cheap and cheerful B-movie, featuring a time-travelling Tim Thomerson and a pre-fame Helen Hunt dressed in a Santa outfit. It's daft and dated and looks like it was made for about sixpence, but it's extremely likeable and, for some reason, just works. It also spawned 4 sequels, each one worse than the last.
