I have played on MSTS (Microsoft Train Simulator) for several years and to be honest compared to most game graphics today it looks quite dated. This on the other hand is much better. Although this lacks extra content you'll be playing for hours on what it's already got.
The gameplay on a new (high spec.) computer is very quick and the game starts in about 15 seconds for me. The built-in route designer software is brilliantly easy to use and you can get your own route up and runnin' in no time. The selection of track and buildings is phenomenal you'll be looking through it for days.
For anyone who likes trains and simulator type games this is a big must have and out runs MSTS any day.

I love all thses types of train costructing games.
But I believe Trainz 2009 is far better.

Great, Full of amazing features..
Unlike MSTS (The stand alone product)
The Sounds are amazing, and the graphics..
I dont about the events tho, i havent used them,
I been spending more time building my own route !
It gives you an easy to use Route maker, But warning it is complex in the fact with the scenery, terrain and object tools...
It is huge but its fairly easy once mastered,
I reccommend this,
