Product Description

Product Description

Written by a leading gundog trainer, this book explains to the novice trainer what needs to be done step-by-step and, just as importantly, explains how to obviate defects of behaviour in the dogs and remedy them when they occur. The general care of spaniels from infancy to maturity is dealt with throughout and advice is also given on breeding. The first working season is covered and the techniques employed in field trials are described.

Superb... 22 Sep 2008
Format:Hardcover
A fantastic book. Well written in an easy to follow, step by step (well month by month) guide. Having never owned a spaniel & having never trained a dog this book takes you through from the absolute basics to areas of training I don't think I'd need unless competing in FT's.

i have only read this book up to the 6 monthes of age up to yet and have found it quite easy to follow.
all what is required of the dog up to this stage is very simple when following the steps that are guided in this book i would recomend this book even to the novice trainer not just as a gun dog guide as training is very fun for the trainer and dog

I thought the book would have more info on training a new puppy. If you are going to train your spaniel how to hunt then I guess the author gives more info on that.
