Synopsis

Everything changed the day Phoenix and his friends defended their camp against War and his legions in the Blizzard of Souls. The human survivors now number fewer than a dozen, but something keeps them fighting, and they live on. Phoenix can feel himself becoming something different; rage has destroyed the once innocent boy he had been. He's being called to the last battle, which will determine the fate of the planet once and for all. The survivors will take on Death himself, and only time will tell whether or not they have a hope of succeeding.

Well thought out 15 April 2009
By Mr. G. Battle VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
The finale of the God's End offers few surprises. The band of survivors are becoming 'more' through the powers of Phoenix. Death stands tall awaiting their efforts to save Mankind. McBride has laid out his visionary horror tale for all to see and there is entertainment to be had reading it. The horror is real and visceral. The landscape is well defined and creates a strong image of our post-apocalyptic world. The God's End trilogy is almost a movie script with the build up of the heroes and the nemesis and his minions. The downfall of McBride's work is that the narrative is frequently redundant, with a myriad of chapters that serve only as a reminder of what is occurring. The entire trilogy could be condensed in to one large and great volume, however the cash cow moos. Overall, Trail of Blood is a great vision, let down in the execution, however it'll keep you glued until the final page.

i have just finished reading MICHAEL McBRIDE'S ''GOD'S END'' trilogy. i am not often moved to leave reviews but i felt in the case of these 3 books i just had to say something.
i read book 1: ''THE FALL'' in a day. i read book 2: ''TRAIL OF BLOOD'' in a day and waited with baited breath until book 3: ''BLIZZARD OF SOULS'' arrived, this too was devoured in a day.

book 1: ''THE FALL'' starts off with world war III and a young man prophesized to be the SECOND COMING.
book 2: ''TRAIL OF BLOOD'' finds the survivors clinging to life in a nuclear winter and awaiting the FINAL BATTLE.
book 3: ''BLIZZARD OF SOULS'' finds the remnant travelling to face the final battle with DEATH and his legions.

i am a great fan of apocalyptic stories and these 3 books are the best i've ever read on the subject.
i froze with the characters in the nuclear winter. i cried at the losses, i dripped sweat in the heat in book 3. i wont give away the plot, i hate it when i get too much information in reviews.
the characters were totally believable, the vision of the post apocalyptic earth stunned me to the core, the description of the emergence of the 4 riders of the apocalypse were so beautifully described i could see and smell them!! all in all the ''GOD'S END'' TRILOGY is a masterful, triumphant, feel good, scary, sumptious read!!! an absolute must for any reader who likes amazing characters, horror, blood sweat and tears, triumph over evil, descriptive and imaginary style books!!

God's End 18 Dec 2009

I loved the book and I enjoy Michael McBride's stories. All three books in the series flow together well and you don't lose where you are going from one book to the next. I would recommend this book to people who like fiction with a twist. It's scary, but not really a "horror" story!
