By Jon L
Format:Hardcover
As the author points out at the start of the book, for the speculative markets to work, as much money has to be lost as won. As a result don't expect an expert to give you all his secrets.

What the book does do very well is get across the way the markets are essentially loaded against you as a private investor. Having got this across it advises how to start building up expertise and your own trading strategies that try to overcome this disadvantage. It goes on to explain the basic concepts of fundamental and technical analysis to the point that I now ignore most of the rubbish put out on trading blogs by bedroom speculators.

The book does develop a basic methodology to follow but as is somewhat inevitable in a book like this it is rather too general to use "as is". I've given it five stars as it was just the right level for me (absolutely no trading experience at all). It had a really good interesting pace and I now feel that I know enough to understand basic charts and at least go off to find more detailed information in the correct place.

The book was a little disappointing, you are better off reading the economist or the financial times and get a better useful information on this subject.
