Green tea has been enjoyed in China for 5,000 years. Today, worldwide interest continues to grow, stimulated by an increasing understanding of its benefits to our well being.
The large-scale tea companies, however, have attempted to capture consumers with the lure of these health-giving benefits and clever packaging rather than by the quality of their teas.
Fair Trade Loose Leaf Green Tea from Rare Tea Company is endeavouring to reverse this trend. You won't find in their tea broken and lower grade leaves, often called 'dust', which may be hidden in tea bags. Instead, only the finest grade whole leaves including more silver tip buds that can be found in what some well-known brands label silver tip tea.
Fair Trade Loose Leaf Green Tea is so delicious it perfectly exemplifies the truth that green tea does not have to be a bitter brew. It's a truly luxurious and indulgent experience.
Using 1g per cup, each tin makes 25 cups or 12 pots of tea for two - 22p a cup. These whole leaves can be re-infused.
Fair Trade Loose Leaf Green Tea features:
- Made only with the first flush of spring leaves
- Hand processed from whole leaves
- Skilfully crafted to develop soft, subtle flavours
- Clean, refreshing and delicate
Brewing technique:
Green tea should be brewed for a shorter time - about 2- 3 minutes for the first brew. If you are going to make iced tea or to sweeten the green tea with sugar you may want to let it steep longer to bring out the more robust tannic flavours.
