This book provides an excellent range of Philip Hawkins' paintings. It also gives a lively description of the author's life as a youngster - surrounded by the steam age. The paintings shown include modern trains such as the Docklands railway and authentic details from trains and stations in the 50s, developed through Hawkins' great attention to detail.
