Product Description

Set in 1903, Tracker is a tense action thriller in which Arjan (Ray Winstone), a guerrilla survivor of the South African Boer War, lands in colonial New Zealand and is promised a bounty to capture Kereama (Temuera Morrison), a Maori seafarer accused of killing a British soldier.

What should be a simple job for Arjan, a master tracker, turns into a gripping and dangerous game of cat and mouse as Kereama repeatedly escapes and is recaptured., all the while insisting on his innocence. 4.0 out of 5 stars A must watch for all period film fans 13 May 2011
By Ed Rook
Format:DVD
Tracker is a film that any fan of historical movies ought to see. The locations are beautiful, the acting superb, the dialogue at times witty, at times moving. The atmosphere is built perfectly in the opening scenes and it carries through for the majority of the film. Winstone is brilliant but Tam is the guy you're going to remember from this film. Once the action begins it rarely lets up.

What I perhaps enjoyed most was the setting; this isn't a movie relying on a popular character to see it through, this is a film that explores a seldom examined period without forgetting that it's a movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tracker - Ray Not Being Ray! 30 Mar 2011
Format:DVD
Tracker was a welcome surprise for me. I saw it at a recent screening event in London and it was not dissapointed. Ray Winstone steps outside his normal cockney geezer role to play a Boer War veteran and carries it off effectively. He even masters a solid South African accent!

Tem Morrisson provides excellent support and the duo's running battles across the breathtaking New Zealand scenery give the film a real sense of scale and style.

Definitely one to try.

5.0 out of 5 stars A complete delight 6 Jun 2011
Format:Blu-ray
Having read and heard such a lot of good things about this film, I was really looking forward to watching it. Whilst I did have reservations about Ray Winstone in the role of a South African Boar War veteran, they were put to rest within minutes, as he is completely tremendous in the part and it's an inspired piece of casting. To my mind, it's his best piece of acting to date. All of the actors play their parts very well and the pace of the film is set just right. I really found myself caring about the characters and what they were going through. The plot is incredibly gripping and moving and kept me on the edge of my seat, right until the closing titles.

A constant feature in this film is the absolutely beautiful backdrop of the New Zealand scenery. The cinematography is first class and the musical score is very stirring, too. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this to anyone and it's without doubt the most enjoyable and rewarding film I've seen in many years. Five stars.
