SUSPENSEFUL STORY, ABSORBING READ!
on 1 August 2014
Fast Track by Julie Garwood kicks off on a sad note as Cordelia Kane's dad, Andrew Kane, suffered a severe heart attack. It was the third time he had such an attack. Too much damage had been done to his anterior wall and there was no hope of a recovery. But a shock far greater than his father's imminent death awaited Cordie as she sat by his side in the critical care unit of the hospital. All along she has been made to believe that her mother Natalie Ann Smith died in a car crash when she was still too young to remember but her father's dying words were: She didn't.
When Cordie gets hold of her mother's cold, brutal and unfeeling parting letter which was wrapped in tissue and sealed in a plastic bag by her father and learns why her mother Natalie left when she was only two years old, she is determined not only to track down the woman who broke her father's heart but also wanted to find out if Natalie get the life she wanted to live or if there was any justice, the life she deserved. She also came across all the four letters sent by her father to Natalie but they were all returned unopened.
What started as a simple quest to find her mother, learn more about her and her mother's family turns into a deadly business as someone wants Cordie dead. Fast Track by Julie Garwood is heart-wrenching, and absorbing. There are a host of characters who really shine through the book. Aiden, Sophie, Regan, Alec and Jack are all fascinating characters who play important roles in the story. This romantic suspense story is a real delight to read.
