Wow!! A brilliant book which brings any researcher (novice or experienced) quickly up to speed. It provides the reader with relevant background historical information, useful "how to" explanations, and great lists of sources to check (both online and hard copy records). I estimate that this book it saved me many hours on a recent visit to the British Library to research in the India Office collection. More importantly, I was quickly finding relevant records by following the suggested sources and approaches in the book. The "Tracing Your xxxxx Ancestors" is a great series and this is one of the best books in the series.
