NOT JUST FOR VISITORS TO THE PRO,

A bad title as this book is a great introduction to family hostory. It has a PRO bias but general researchers will find it valuable even if they never go anywhere near Kew.

This book is a guide published by the records office. Exhaustively it covers what English public records are available and as it takes a genealogical slant it endeavors to cover what's of interest in the records.
