I'm not a mechanic, so I only bought this book to help with the basic things; keeping an eye on fluid levels, changing lamps/fuses etc. but literally everything I've attempted to look up so far hasn't been covered. My central locking stopped working, and I wanted to know possible causes. It's not in the index. My alarm would go off, even when I started the engine. The book says the alarm is standard, and I should talk to a Toyota dealer. The ABS and "take your car to a Toyota dealer" warning lights came on. "Warning lights" is not in the index and I couldn't find possible causes. The book also assumes that the three-letter acronyms on the fuse housing are meaningful. So far, this book has been a waste of money. While it may well contain some useful information, it doesn't make it at all easy to find quickly. It need a MUCH more comprehensive index (one that someone needs to put some thought into), proper page numbers, cross references that don't involve the reader going back to the index (e.g. it should say "see Lubricants & fluids ON PAGE N" rather than just "see Lubricants & fluids"), and a section covering warning lights on the dash. It should make the easy tasks (e.g. changing a fuse) possible without having to resort to trial-and-error. Overall, this manual really needs a re-think and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone: the Internet may well be a better source of information.
