I've seen so many toys broken before Christmas is even finished, so I wanted to get my grandson something that would last. This toy is superb quality, very strong, brightly coloured and with the addition of some more vehicles, provided two little boys with hours of fun on the first day. I did hesitate before spending so much, but I'm so glad I did now.

This garage is a thing of beauty, I was very happy with it after building. My boys both loved it and played with it every day. Unfortunately it is very easy to break...the first time the plastic edging was pulled off the top floor of the garage (it's stapled into place). We had owned it for approx 2 weeks when this happened. Surely a garage made so meticulously could have a wooden edging incorporated into the design?
However as I and my children did like it so much I packed it up and returned it for a replacement. I was really upset when within hours of it being played with it had broken again, this time the black and white barriers on the top floor had been pulled out (they just slot into holes) and damaged the top floor itself, meaning it could not be re-inserted properly. Obviously my children caused the garage to become damaged - but really a toy like this needs to be strong enough to withstand the attentions of 2 young boys, after all surely they are the owners it's been designed for? So if you do buy this, I would say wait until your children are older (i.e. at least 4 or 5). But I still think it's lovely!

After much garage searching, i opted for this one for my daughters 3rd birthday. I read the reviews, spoke to friends who had previously bought Le Toy Van garages, who all said the same 'it's not robust & breaks easily, particularly ramps.' My 2nd choice was the elc big city, which was slightly cheaper, very robust but big. We don't have much space and as it was for a girl, i was seduced by beauty. I thought that as my husband is a design engineer and very handy, he could reinforce the weak areas ie ramp, and so i proceeded with my pricy purchase.
It arrived a couple of weeks ago, but we opened it 2 nights ago in preparation for my daughter's birthday yesterday. Indeed it is very pretty, however, the quality is truely appauling. The screws and fitting are of the poorest quality and will snap under the slightest pressure. My husband changed all of these for ones of more substance. We then made the decision to glue all joints and weak area, so making it stonger, but will never be able to be collapsed. My husband used a strong wood glue, but when he tried to clean up the blobs using the appropriate product that he would always use on MDF the paint rubbed away! My daughter is delighted with her present,but ater a couple of hours play with it and her 4 friends, it is not broken, but starting to look worn. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY LE TOY VAN GARAGE IF YOU WANT IT TO LAST ANY DISTANCE.
