This Buzz figure looks great, however given the large price tag that's not enough to push it as the ultimate Buzz Lightyear figure. I bought this for my four year old son and while he was initially impressed with the notion of pressing the button on Buzz's jetpack and seeing it light up for about 20 seconds, he quickly lost interest and that's where this toy falls down a little....

You see, there's not really a lot else you can do with it. And when you see the other Buzz Lightyear's available that's a shock. It comes complete with around 10 phrases. It doesn't actually do anything else.

It would be wrong of me to title this review this way and not actually direct you to the superior toy, so here it is. If you search your Amazon bar for this phrase: "Toy Story Talking Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger, Pixar Toy Story Collection" you will find 'Ultimate Buzz Lighyear' - almost £20 less in price, with bags more sayings, three different modes including one hearing sensor in which he reacts to your kid's voice, the head actually moves when he speaks, and he has those incredible pop-out space wings, it even comes in the same box as Buzz in the Toy Story movie.

I wouldn't have normally taken the time to write out this review, but having spent so much time playing with my son and watching his happiness at his Buzz Lightyear figures, when I saw the price tag on this something just came over me to try to help other parents pick the right one!

My two and a half year old grandson loves this big Buzz Lightyear that I bought him for Christmas. Although his mum finds the noise a bit annoying. My grandson also got a small Buzz for Christmas so he likes to play with them both together. Very well made toy and fun to play with.

Bought buzz lightyear for my 4 year old son and it is a bit hit!!! Great value. Only one downside is the material rocket flames keep getting stuck in back pack. Great phrases.
