Amazon.co.uk Review

Film favorites Buzz Lightyear and Woody are back in action with their latest video game offering, Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 2. The cowboy Woody is in trouble in a game that closely follows the plot of the hit computer-animated flick. Although the game is obviously aimed at luring fans of the movie of the same name, it does contain gameplay that will appeal to a wider audience. Toy Story 2 is not a perfect game, but it captures the playability and humour of the film, and also has movie-quality animation and graphics.

Woody finds himself kidnapped by Al, the evil toy collector, and it's up to Buzz to save the day--with a little help from the other toys in owner Andy's room. Buzz must venture outside Andy's house and into the local neighbourhood. Game environments include a perilous construction area, a toy barn and a sky-rise apartment. Ultimately, Buzz will confront his arch nemesis, the Evil Emperor Zurg--but getting there is half the fun.

During his journey, Buzz must collect missing parts for Mr Potato Head. He also calls on his buddies Rex, Slinky Dog and Hamm the piggy bank for helpful tips and directions. Controls are varied but can be confusing to master. Buzz can climb, do a "super foot stomp", fire his laser and perform a Space Ranger spin attack to help him get through the various levels. --Bill Hutchens

Product Description

The Disney/Pixar film has found its way out of the toy cupboard and onto PlayStation. Woody, the thinking person's favourite cowboy, has been stolen by a greedy toy collector who recognises Woody's true worth. Buzz and the other toys will have to risk their plastic through 15 levels to save their friend.

Collect Pizza Planet tokens at each stage until you have enough to reach the next level. Mr Potato Head and Rex the nervous Tyrannosaurus is among the characters who join Buzz on his perilous mission and help solve the puzzles on every level. Buzz has rocket jet boots and an arm laser. But will they be enough against both Al and the Evil Emperor Zurg?

Toy Story 2 Platinum 25 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Both my sons love this game. One plays and the other watches, it isn't often that a game keeps them both amused.

The game is challenging and fun. The graphics are excellent. 'Earning' movie footage as you progress is a good idea.

Buzz is back this time to save Woody from the evil toy collector Al. Travel through fifteen amazing levels such as Andy's House, Al's Toy Barn and many more. This game also includes clips of Toy Story 2. It deserves many more than 5 stars

Fun and challenging 18 Jan 2007
Fun:
I no longer own this, but when i did i found myself hooked onto it for a good while. The graphics are fairly good, though this has been out for quite a long time now i believe.

The gameplay is great! The levels are fun and quite easy! Petty it wasnt a little more like the film, but its different, therefore unique.

I don't know if i could still enjoy this the same although i have times where i want it again.
