As a Doctor, I take an interest in what is "out there" on the shelves. Some popular books on weight loss, giving up smoking, stress management, exercise and having a healthy lifestyle send more people in to see me because they all keep saying "see your Doctor if this doesn't work".
Most of these books don't work, because they offer a quick fix.
This book is exemplary in that it explains the scientific rationale behind all the other fads and fashions upon which less scrupulous (and less qualified) authors base their so-called methods.
If you are really serious and motivated about leading a healthy lifestyle with proven benefits, this is the only book you need.
Personally, I wish it did not have such a "cheap" feel about it. I look at the books on the other shelves, with their glossy pages and beautiful pictures and feel that an opportunity has been wasted. If there was ever a book that should be in everyone's house, this is it.

This book has really helped me, I have more energy, I have managed to make the low-GL muesli and I have tried most of the breakfast recipes,and some of the dinner recipes but am still working through the book. I am elderly and am trying to get my 35" waist trimmed down,this book has such sensible advice and is the most informative book I have brought to date. I am so pleased with how I feel and I know that as I am on cholesterol lowing drugs how important it to eat right. I gave my first copy to my daughter in law,because I know how unhappy she is with her weight.
My trousers that wouldn't do up last year are now fitting me but I still have a few inches around my waist to go.
This book is helping me to lose the excess weight properly.

I followed the 28 Day Plan and was delighted to lose 9lbs! The best bits about using the Plan were: it was family friendly (important with teenage children!) in that all members of the family enjoyed many of the recipes - indeed many of them we're still using; I slept much better; felt more 'alive' and enjoyed increasing the amount of exercise I did; the meals had lots of flavour; and the great thing was that, the weight (for once!) has STAYED OFF!
I can thoroughly recommend this 28 Day Plan, it is highly effective and also fun to use. This is the sort of Plan you can easily repeat if you wanted to lose more weight.

At last an eating plan and not a diet!! Once you are in the swing of the 28 day plan the benefits become clear. Eat well with interesting and tasty recipes; sleep well after a balanced eating plan for the whole day/week/month and lose any excess pounds you have probably been trying to shift for years. Derrick has compiled a book that is witty, addresses many of the questions about healthy eating and puts forward, in an understandable way, the science behind the plan. Treat yourself and have a go. It's a little tough when you start so maybe taking part with your partner is a good idea.

If you want one book on improving your heart health, BUY THIS ONE. No nonsense advice with specifics eg. how many walnuts to eat rather than a handful! Rarely do you get such a comprehensive guide written in jargon free language with a plan of action mere mortals - with busy lives - can follow. Should be handed out by the NHS to everyone over 40! Thank you Dr Cutting!

I found this book easy to read, informative, full of good practical advice(without being patronising!). Easy to follow, tasty recipes. I have managed to lose weight and feel healthier and would certainly recommend it to others.

I purchased this product for my wife who is over the moon with it. She is constantly reading the book. As usual it arrived in good condition and promptly as I have come to expect from Amazon. Unfortunately just reading the book is not enough(oh how it wish it were!!) one has to carry out the advice-Ah but that's why I bought it isn't it?!
A good buy.

and a very interesting read. If you care about your health and want to understand how you can introduce changes to your lifestyle through diet and exercise to make you slimmer, healthier and fitter, then this book is a must buy. It is extremely well written with lots of useful information and guidance, whilst at the same time being easy to understand. It is clear from reading his book that Dr. Cutting has painstakingly researched the subject matter. As an example, I found it fascinating to learn that just 3 Brazil nuts can provide me with enough daily selenium. No more expensive supplements for me! This book is the equivalent of the Bible of Good Health and Common Sense. This is the type of book, that in a perfect world, the NHS would provide to everybody throughout the country. My advice to anyone out there who cares about their health and wants to improve on it, is go out and buy ''Dump Your Toxic Waist''.
To sum up: THIS IS A POTENTIALLY LIFESTYLE-CHANGING BOOK FOR THE POSITIVE. Certainly from my viewpoint, it has to be one of the best investments health-wise that I have ever made! My only problem now is making sure that I have enough money to last me until I reach One Hundred Years Young!
