despite the 24.5 cm size which seemed to match the current gasket seal in use (original part-circa1983) when tried on pressure cooker to boil potatoes...it did not work as it did not seal the lid of cooker ( you could press down on handle side and opposite side of lid would tilt up,so no seal )

on closer inspection the profile of the new gasket seal was different to the original .....so it will not fit my pressure cooker,bought in December 1982 !!!!!!!!

Must now reconcile myself to buying a new pressure cooker !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R.BURNS
