Being and architect and a semi-professional photographer, this book was really an eye-opener for me. I personally prefer to read theory books on creative subjects, other than looking at pictures or finished products. And in all ways this book was all that I was expecting and much more. The way Flusser establishes his discourse around the problematic of the way we face the work of art these days and introduces a brief historic study on how photography has changed the way we see and feel the world, is really worth reading. The book goes on with a chain of thought on how a photographer should ethically photograph. It really inspires you to go out there and start photographing with a newer vision on how photography should be.
I think it is an essential book for any photographer or even any artist. Even a common person should read it, although you should have some theoretic background to understand and relate the notions that base his discourse.
