As a fellow rennie and peasant performer, I say with great glee that Meghan Brunner's work is the nearest thing I have to the Renaissance Faire when in withdrawal. Too many authors borrow the renfaire or SCA scene for a mystery plot or teen angst, and forget the beauty and magic that the performers create. This is the kind of book that I buy copies of to share with my friends.
The plot, like the other two, begins roughly with Pendragon's faire in the autumn, and mentions some of what has happened in the intervening months. In this case, that would be babies, and not just Moire's. There are comical peasant antics, and family feuds, and above all, a lot of love.
Here's a health to the company, and the next book.
