I bought this book because I had read a blog by the author a couple of years ago.. little did I know the book is basically the same blog. But...and this a big but.. Martin took a lot of the blog out, and in my mind he should have added to the blog not taken stuff out. It is light weight as a result. the author was brought up overseas and mixes well with locals and other travelers, but seems to miss these interactions out of the book.

The KKH, one of the most difficult roads in the world to get to is covered in a page...after riding 8 or 9,000 miles to get to!!

The author was 22 when he did this trip, and from the blog you realize he is inexperienced on a bike and prone to accidents, but again that is missed in the book. Clearly this guy can write, and I see great things coming. Let's hope this is just a start, because the writing itself is excellent. It just looks like the book was an afterthought and just an edited blog....which in fact it is.
