From the Inside Flap

--This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Having thoroughly enjoyed A Year in Provence I was pleasantly suprised to find that Toujours Provence is even more entertaining. It is written in the same vain as it's predecessor, describing beautifully the rich scenery, characters and events of rural France, but as the author has more experiences to draw upon for this book, the stories have a bit more variety. Pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy a very entertaining read !

I couldn`t put it down, even took it to the Loo to get peace to read it, the usual Peter Mayle hilarity, a wonderful read for anyone that loves France or dreams of sunnier days.

Flit lit crits tend to write off the original with a sneer. But I still like A Year In Provence and have read it on many an occasion when sniffling with Brit Flu in January and February. Friends gave me the sequel, found when carbooting, to divert me from my most recent sniffle. Like visiting old friends with new annecdotes. A guilty pleasure like Dick Van Dyke on afternoon telly or a box of Elizabeth Shaws on your own. More comfort cuisine. Just what le medecin ordered.

Being an English citizen that moved to Provence a year ago, I have to say this was the funniest, most accurate book I have ever read. Everything that Peter Mayle wrote was spot on with a humourous description hand in hand. I would recommend this book to anyone who's ever been to this area of France and even those who haven't. It was amusing to the end.

Since food and France are some of my favourite things in life, this book was always set to be a poular choice for me. Add in Peter Mayle's genius for describing people and places so clearly that you can almost smell and taste the atmosphere and you have an absolute delight all wrapped up inside the pages of a book. One of my favourite reads, ever.

Mr. Mayle has a warm and wry sense of writing, and his affection for Provence and its people comes through time and again. I highly recommend this book, especially for first time readers of travel writing.

Still entertaining, though weaker than the first book A year in Provence. If you read the first one, you can tell the main ideas of this one, it just gives more detals

An enjoyable read but one of the weaker books that Peter Mayle has written,But saying that it is still a good read.
