This is a neat update for the standard mechanical roomstat & fairly easy to install, in my case I already had the necessary wiring & just had to sink a 35mm wallbox into the partition wall. Doesnt require a battery which is an advantage over many programmable roomstats & is easy to program, the backlight is good & the display easy to read etc.
Now we come to the not so good points, the touchscreen is not very responsive & sometimes takes several attempts before it responds, this is not helped by the intruction booklet which tells you to "press" buttons, I found that pressing rarely produced a response & a light touch was much better.
Personally I would prefer to have finer control over temperature, 1c steps is not fine enough to ensure optimum comfort & the switching differential, temp has to drop 0.5c before it calls for heat on its finest setting could also be finer.
The next complaint I am not sure is valid yet until it has been in use a bit longer but I am concerned that there doesnt seem to be any anticipation of heat built in. The standard roomstat has a heating element, usually a resistor, which has the effect of smoothing out the peaks & troughs of temperature ensuring a more even temperature. I have not noticed this happening with this roomstat which means that due to the lag of temperature rise within the flat the temperature carries on rising by at least another 1c after the stat has clicked off. I understand that it has some sort of learning function which tells it how quickly the temp rises but I am not sure if that is used to anticipate heat because its not explained how it uses this info in the booklet so I will update this review at a later date if necessary.

I've had 3 of these in 5 years. The toutch screen can stop working, they can freeze up, the display can dissappear, the relay can stick - Each time (apart from the last one) Heatmiser have said it's out of warranty and to |BUY another. Well, guess what, I did - but it wasn't one of yours. There's better stuff out there IMO and these guys aren't exactly cheap.

I bought this thermostat to replace a Myson dial style thermostat that had started to become unreliable. The changeover was very easy as I had a 3 wire setup to the old stat, therefore it was just a case of setting a 35mm dry lining wall plate in place and wiring up. Contrary to other reviews of Heatmiser thermostats I found the wiring instructions self explanatory and hence the whole job for fitting was completed in 30 minutes flat. A link wire was required between L and A2 (not supplied) but this was very clear in the wiring diagram and easy to install. Setup was also very easy and intuative. The one minor issue I had was that the unit defaulted into the frost protect mode, signified with a snowflake on the display. Therefore the heating did not fire up at the appropriate time. However a factory reset of the unit, again explained clearly in the manual, soon had the unit operating as expected. The result is that the house termperature is far more stable than before and there is the added bonus that the unit constantly displays actual room temperature down to 0.1 of a degree. Therefore you can see how warm or cold the house is whether the heating is on or not. Touch screen works flawlessly and day to day operation is very simple. With the PRT unit the ability to have 4 timed terperature settings is an added benefit over the old stat. The unit also looks stylsh, far better than the old dial stat that it replaced. Pricing excellent for a product that is designed to help save energy. I am sure that used correctly it will pay for itself several times over.

Ordered Friday, arrived Saturday via PDP, excellent service including txt advising time of delivery and drivers name!
Very easy to install and wire up, although I did a bit of research to make sure all wiring was there and found it a bit confusing - in the end could not have been simpler.

I replaced a 14 year old Lifestyle (Drayton) ETS mechanical thermostat. This was already recessed into the wall in a 35mm deep box so no change required.
The old thermostat was wired;
1 Brown
2 Yellow
3 Yellow/Green (Earth)
4 Blue
The new thermostat was then wired;
A1 Brown
A2 Yellow
N Blue
L linked to A1 with a separate piece of wire
(the Earth wire is not used and was simply taped up and left in the socket box)

All done in 15 minutes including programming the new thermostat.
Only been in 24 hours so can’t comment on reliability but has been easy to use. No problem changing temp, just touch arrow and off you go.
Only thing I need to check is the temperature calibration as I need to set the temp at about 24 deg C to get comfortable. Plan to do this in next few days – manual explains how to recalibrate and look to be no problem.
Small issue as at the end of the day we just want to have a comfortable temp set for different days and times – job done!

This has made a huge difference to our comfort levels...so accurate to within a nano degree. The one thing I like about it is you dont need a masters degree to operate it or spend 5 hours reading the instructions to programme the thing it is very very simple...

for example Day 1...wake up..enter time....Day 1 leave house...enter time...day 1 back home...enter time...day 1 go to bed...enter time simples...buy one very good clear display easy to use.
