Book Description

30 Sep 2008
Can a young woman, haunted by childhood sexual abuse, ever feel whole and pure again? Can she fully come to terms with her past? Is it possible to abruptly and radically change a drug-fuelled, destructive and criminal lifestyle without professional intervention? How does one family overcome the suffering brought about by fire, flood and the death of a cherished five week-old baby? 'Touching the Cross' is an inspiring collection featuring 15 accounts of people living in Huddersfield, England and belonging to Huddersfield Christian Fellowship. Each story is unique, yet all are a living testament to God's work when we enter into a personal and life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. Here are stories of prayers answered, of God comforting the lonely, guiding the lost and offering hope when there seems to be none. Each has asked Jesus into their heart, and found fulfillment in the midst of pain and suffering.

A refreashing and inspiring read. In such uncertain times as we currently live the Author draws on real experiences of real people, who's lives have been impacted and positively effected by a very real Jesus who is just as relevant and able to touch lives TODAY as in the biblical accounts of old.

The testimonies in this book provide the evidence that God is alive today and touching the lives of ordinary people like you and me. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Gem 2 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
'Touching the Cross' turned out to be many things.
On one hand it was an enjoyable read and on another, inspiring and at times even gripping with its astonishing tales of real people, not from biblical times but living now in 21st century West Yorkshire.
I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Touching the Cross 23 Feb 2009
Format:Paperback
It is evident from the very first chapter that this isn't just a book full of facts, but a book inspired by the living God himself. Each experience that's been shared, highlights the fact that there is a living, loving, active God out there who's concerned with every aspect of our lives. For each person who has testified to having received a touch from God, it clearly isn't a case of 'because I'm special' or 'because I'm good' but because God is good and everyone is special to him no matter who they are or what they've done.
The one lasting impression one get's from this book is that there is HOPE.
Overall, Touching the Cross is an excellent read and one to keep on your bookshelf to re-read at times when you feel you've failed, or when you just feel a bit insecure and need a reminder that you're not on your own in this world. For those who've never experienced a personal relationship with your Creator, I recommend you buy it, read it and join with millions of others who've joyfully exclaimed, "I've met Jesus - I've touched the cross!"
