Damian Stratton AKA the Demon Knight has served Engands king loyally for many years. He is to be rewarded, all he must do is ride to Scotland and prevent the marriage between the Maid of Misterly to Tavis Gordon an outlaw. The king instructs Damian to send the Lady Elissa with her Mother to a convent. When Damain arrives at Misterly he is fortunately in time to stop the wedding. But he has to endure the wrath of Elissa, who declares that she will not allow her Mother and younger sister, who are in poor health to travel to a convent. Damian had not known that their was another apart from Elissa and her mother. lora is a small child. Damian not wanting the death of a woman or child on his concience allows them to stay. But only as long as it takes for his bride to arrive another gift from king George.

This is what I would describe as a lusty romp of a story. It is quite predictable but not a bad way to pass a few hours. Damian the Demon Knight, doesn't seem to live up to that reputation, he is kind and considerate. Elissa is headstrong and hates the English. As usual with this author there are many love scenes. The baddie did not seem quite that bad to me, he was merely fighting to gain back what was his. This had the feel of a medieval romance, although it is set in the eighteenth centuary. I agree with another reviewers opinion regarding Elissa's old nursemaid, who kept predicting the future. Which in effect was the author providing her own spoilers, which was a little annoying. But all in all not a bad book.

2.0 out of 5 stars annoyed 26 April 2012
By allana
Format:Kindle Edition
i am actually quite annoyed with this book and i don't know why i'm giving it 2 stars and this is why 1. a huge amount of repetition 2. we are forced to believe guy is a tough night but chickens out in all situations 3. we are forced to believe evil guy is weak and evil when throughout the book he fights bravely having been ousted from his lands and his family destroyed and yet not once does he back away from hero even when faced with death which left me wondering why support the hero who was English but he deserved Scottish land just because he loved it, oh dear!!!??? AND FINALLY the worst is there's this nan who supposedly hears voices that predict the future which totally ruins it for you ,because throughout the book she announces what's to follow so where is the excitement there? also every two three pages everyone runs to mom and sis to report things again that you've read just two pages back . we are also led to believe girl is tough and outspoken but accepts a whole bunch of things that would have had anyone screaming with her head down. but i did finish it who knows why though?!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wickedly sensual and bawdy 14 Mar 2002
By Desmond Chan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
A staunch defender of the English in the Battle of Culloden against the Jacobites and the Highlanders in Scotland, Damian Stratton earns his notoriety as the feared Demon Knight for the carnage he waged on the mutiny of King George. Tired of the bloodshed, his wish for a land, wife and a stable life was realized when King George and Lord Pelham conferred him the title of Lord Clarendon, Master of Misterly. It comes with an agreement to prevent the marriage between Tavis Gordon and Elissa Fraser which would unite two strong clans in the highlands and pose a threat to the English rule.

Things get complicated when he is attracted to the feisty lass, Elissa who despises Damian with his murder of her father. She rebels but to no avail - he is much stronger in warfare and in the mastery of seduction. The passion between them ignites with their warring hearts. Yet Damian isn't the cold-blooded slayer he is rumoured. She finds justice and great chivalry in his rule and is capable of compassion towards her sickly mother and little sister.

Just when their romance blossoms evil plans are hatched. The spiteful heiress, Lady Kimbra sent to Damian as a bride sows discords and seeds of jealousy. Tavis Gordon wishes to reclaim his stake on the land through war and treachery...

Connie Mason's A TOUCH SO WICKED combines lusty passion and politics amidst the backstage of Scotland wars. Elissa and Damian makes the chemistry combustible and their love is shamelessly melodramatic with the ongoing treachery. Duty and obligations clashes with loyalty and passion. A TOUCH SO WICKED sparks no novelty for fans of Connie Mason who are familiar with her sensual and bawdy style, but nevertheless it is a Scotland romance yarn well spun for its colourful and wicked characters who will touch readers' hearts.

3.0 out of 5 stars a very enjoyable book 23 July 2002
By Brenda Condit - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
As always I love Connie's books. She has a way with words that really brings the characters to life.

This book is set in Scotland, where the hero, Damian, an Englishman, is sent to prevent a wedding that would join two clans and possible upset the fragil peace between England and Scotalnd. The king send Damian, a landless knight to be the new Lord of Misterly & if he can prevent the wedding the land will be his. He arrives just in time to keep the heroine, Elissa Fraser keeping her promise to her dead father. He had wanted her to marry the Gordon Laird and unite the two clans. At first Elissa treats Damian like the hated Englishman he is and thinks he will be cruel and harsh with her clan and family, but she soon finds that he is a honest, caring, tender man who has no wish to hurt anyone anymore.

they soon realize the strong attraction they have to each other and the love scenes are passionate and beautiful. But there are evil forces that keep them from being together and they must fight for thier love and their very lives.

I enjoyed this book so much that I read it all in one setting. Its a fast and exciting read. I can't wait to read her new book as soon as I get it.

4.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable historical romance 7 Feb 2002
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
In 1746, King George knights Damian Stratton following the Battle of Culloden. For the next several years, Damian loyally serves his majesty and his country fighting the remaining Jacobite rebels still plotting in Highlander Scotland. Though weary of the endless fighting, as a landless knight Damian owns nothing and has never forgotten the Scots killed his father.

In 1752 King George and Prime Minister Lord Pelham assign Damian the mission of stopping the marriage between the Gordon Laird and the Maiden of Misterly because they fear the merging of these powerful clans. Because of his previous loyalty and if successful on his quest, Damian will become an Earl with an English estate plus that of Misterly. Damian halts the nuptials angering the bride Elissa Fraser. Though she wants to hate him as the English killed her father at Culloden, she observes how kind Damian is with everyone. As these "natural" enemies fall in love, they must overcome those opposed to their union including a King who wonders if his warrior turned traitor at the sight of a skirt.

Though star-crossed lovers impacted by the events at Culloden and other mid eighteen-century squabbles has been often told, Connie Mason provides an action packed thriller that hooks fans of Scottish romances. The fast-paced tale never slows down especially when Elissa and Damian verbally dual. This delightful pair stimulates A TOUCH SO WICKED while keeping the plot moving. Ms. Mason furbishes a story that historical romance readers will enjoy due to the presence of Damian and Elissa.
