A visual, sensual and inspirational feast,
By MRS. SUZANNE DAVY (BATH, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In Touch: Texture in Design (Hardcover)
For all those who appreciate that there is more to interior design than colour, pattern and shape, this book beautifully illustrates a vital dimension that is often overlooked. Through dynamic photography and enticing text, each page offers a sensual and inspirational feast through its presentation of Texture as an integral facet for a harmonious interior scheme. Finding her sources within the natural environment via ethnic artefacts and spiritual reference, Kelly Hoppen uses luxurious, tactile and contrasting fabrics, furnishings and finishing materials as a chef might might combine subtle flavours and ingredients to create a delicious and delightfully-presented meal.

This review is from: In Touch: Texture in Design (Hardcover)
This book is well worth a look at if you are looking for modern ideas on a traditional English theme of decortaing. The book is beautifully illustrated with fantasic photos which captures the esance of Kelly Hoppens designs very well. The text which in many ways just acompanies the pictures is interesting and highlights some of the main ideas. It is the type of book that you refer back to again and again as you come away remembering certain images and themes. The main emphisis in the book is the use of texture as well as colour in designing interiors. It contains a very useful section which runs through products oftern used in interiors and explains their uses, advantages and disadvantages. I would recomend this book to any one who likes interior design and is look for insperation.
