Product Description

Amelia Franklin was given up for adoption by her mother when she was one day old. With nobody wanting to adopt her she was then raised in an orphanage until her eighteenth birthday. On that day Amelia, now an adult in the eyes of the State, is forced to leave the orphanage, which was the only home she had known.

With nowhere to go and nobody to turn to she finds herself sleeping on a park bench, hoping that it doesn't rain. However, when she wakes the next day she finds herself in a strange room, lying on a bed with a lace cloth draped over her almost naked body. Surrounded by candles with a stranger watching over her, she is more afraid than she has ever been.

Who is this stranger whose kiss is so inviting? And why would he have chosen to seek out the orphaned girl who nobody wanted? Amelia is about to discover who she truly is and how a little magic will change her life forever!

I downloaded this book along with the other books in this supernatural saga to read on holiday. I found this book a nice easy read which I enjoyed on the beach. The characters were likable and Edison intrigued me from the very beginning. I always enjoy stories about Witches and magic, but this was different to others I've read as the love story had me gripped too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Magical Book 27 Sep 2012

First I want to say I did like the story. The story begins with Amelia who is an orphan. When she turns 18 she gets put out of her foster home, has nowhere to go and falls asleep on a park bench. Then the weirdenss begins. That's where my problems began with the book. There will be spiolers in my review, so you have been warned....

Both Amelia and Edison seem very childish to me in the begining of the book. Maybe I'm expecting too much from these characters? If she is 18 and he is 21, why did I feel like they were 12 and 13? The story did not get intresting for me until Amelia overhears a conversation between Edison and Julia, and barges in and starts to grill Edison for details. The adventure picked up and the happy ending came.

The story line did not make sense for me and I think this could have become a book as there was enough there to make it into one. I would have enjoyed reading and getting into the characters more. I had a difficult time trying to understand why the witches would let an abondened witch be alone for so long? Amelia herself was a complex character and the story was too short to even begin to unravel her. The relationship between Edison and Celia could have used more clarification as well.

Overall it was a light read and left me feeling good when I was done. I recommend if you don't want to get into something too deep.
