This book is an absolute joy.
It has been written by real fans, all of whom have Lilywhite blood flowing through their veins. It is superbly entertaining throughout, and reminds us all who were lucky enough to have seen The Double Team how good things used to be, also how long-sufferring us Spurs fans have been since our heyday (which may be just around the corner again?).
It also recalls another age brilliantly, tales of 9 year olds in the 40s, 50s and even the 60s going to White Hart Lane ON THEIR OWN, and having the time of their lives. There are some classic humourous anecdotes of cars breaking down on their way to Away games (we've all been there!)and struggling through the fog to God-forsaken places like Burnley, only to find when you arrived that the pitch was flooded!
Any Spurs fan will probably laugh and cry in equal measures reading this book, which is exactly what following "Tottenham Til I Die" does to us all devoted Tottenham fans in real life.
For me, the fact that so many fans now in their 90s have contributed just blew me away. The possibility that they will see Spurs win (another) major trophy in the near future is incredibly heart-warming.
Probably ther best present you could ever give to any Spurs fan; tremendous value and superbly illustrated with some very collectable old photos throughout.
