This is just a great album to have on the shelf - and all for just over a pound a disc - what are you waiting for? The recordings sound fine to me and the selection is impeccable. The downside is...this is a budget release so don't expect any fancy booklets or artist info. What you get is three hot discs chock full of the best rock 'n roll music ever!
If you don't know much Rockabilly this is a great place to start as it gives you lots of names to follow up: Buddy Holly (of course), Johnny Burnette (of course), Gene Vincent, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Bill Haley, Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley, Dale Hawkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and the rest but also some others perhaps not so familar: Mac Curtis, Warren Smith, Ronnie Self, Billy Lee Riley, Sonny Burgess, Skeets MacDonald, Charlie Feathers, Webb Pierce, Wanda Jackson and a dozen others.
If you know lots about Rockabilly then this is a great album too as it provides an almost perfect Rockabilly Party Album or very good alternative to that mix tape you always meant to put together!
Although Rockabilly as a genre didn't last too long it was the best, the most exciting music of it's generation, and these discs prove it!
