When i first bought this cd i was amazed at how very uplifting it was. The album is jam packed with perfect pop rock gems that leave you with an optamistc upbeat feeling. With its fast tracks filled with simple yet catchy hooks and its slower more reflective tracks, that dog pull you into this sence of longing to hear more. The violin provided by petra haden makes a beautiful sound and compliments the vocal aspect of the band. The harmonies are sweeet and precise with glorious crecendos which display the outstanding vocal capability of the group as a whole. The lyrics are slghtly simplistsic but that does not prove to be a disadvantage as it fits into the bubblegum pop stroke indie rock feel that they put out. Much like Other albums by that dog, This will leave you toe tapping to its very last rocking chord. If you liked this then i strongly advise you check out the rentals (which also include the Haden sisters on violin, moog and vocals)
