As the product description states, this package is for those who have experience of Office 2007 (and I guess other previous versions). If that is all you require then this is OK. But if you want to learn more about what this suite of software can do for you it certainly is not 'Total' training, although it is a 'cost-effective' alternative.
With these points in mind the ten individual course elements are well covered in an easy to comprehend style, although as others have noted a 'UK' concentric accent/person would be nice. Whilst Erin Olsen is obviously well versed in her subject matter, her tonal quality leaves much to be desired, rather like one of my old school teachers. droning on and nobody really taking in the detail!
On a more positive note, the package runs on both Windows and MAc OSX, and being able to split the screen between training and application is great. I have used the software on both platforms without any gliches as mentioned elsewhere.
One final point, when browsing the Amazon product details, the 'product features and details' for this package and this one Total Training for Microsoft Office 2010 Getting up to Speed New Features (PC/Mac)are at the time of writing identical. In reality that set has a second disk that takes the initial training a step further.

Training courses on DVD can often be pretty hopeless. That is not the case for "Total Training for Microsoft Office 2010, Getting up to Speed, New Features" which is actually very good indeed.

Designed for people who have used Office 2007, this course concentrates on new features and changes that have occurred between Office 2007 and 2010. I have worked through the entire course, with the exception of the MS Access bit, which I will watch at a later date. Doing the course, I learned about a number of new features that I have put to use already in files that I have been working with since doing the course. I have also learned about features that I have no immediate use for, but which it is still useful to know about ready for when I do have a use for them.

One very minor niggle - if you move the window when the course is running, the software dies. Other than that, very good indeed. Reasonably priced too. I'm so impressed, that having worked through this, I'll be exploring other Total Training courses.

I have been using Excel since the mid 90's. In those days there were single files for each sheet which would need joining into another file to create a workbook. Since then it has become a lot simpler, except for navigation in the latest versions. One thing this course did was to take away some of the frustration of using the "ribbon".

There are areas of weaknesses in anyones skill set and few people will know all of MS Office. I spend a lot of time using Excel and Access but little with Word or Powerpoint, let alone the finer details of Outlook. This package helps to get you to a reasonable standard in your weaker areas.

    Overall highly recommended.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 29 Oct 2011

I found this to be easy to use straight out of the box. Albeit I am quite confident with most of the Office package already but this gave me greater confidence and taught me things I didn't know. Where it really came into it's own for me was the section on Excell where I am clueless. This section took me through excell in a sensible and systematic way I am now more able to use it in a way which suits me. As otheres have said it may be more useful for those who already have the basics of MS Office, but I do feel it would help total beginners as well. I would recommend this
