Erasure "Tomorrow's World"

Biography

Following the disbandment of the short-lived synth pop group Yazoo, former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke formed Erasure in 1985 with singer Andy Bell. Like Yaz and Depeche Mode, Erasure were a synth-based group, but they had stronger dance inclinations, as well as a sharper, more accessible sense of pop songcraft, than either of Clarke's previous bands. Furthermore, Erasure had the flamboyantly… Read more in Amazon's Erasure Store

An absolute delight. 16 April 2009
By Mister Mig - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Here's a band who's been around for almost 25 years, and they've never stopped. After their massive pop success, many figured them to be over and done. In fact, they continued their brilliance and it's just kept getting better and better.

For old and new fans alike, this boxset will have delights in store for all. Never before seen pictures in a thick, hardcover book (yes, BOOK), that will simply astound. There is a CD of remastered live tracks from various tours (actually I believe all the CDs in the set contain remastered material), as well as a DVD of some of their most treasured live moments.

The second half of their musical history is a testament to their creative genius. And with a new album already slated in the works (back to their electronic roots, we've been told), life looks up once more, with Erasure at the helm. Bravo!!!!

A must have for the Erasure fan 29 Nov 2009
By Sibelius - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Erasure's "Total Pop! Deluxe Box" is truly a must have for Erasure fans. Comprising 4 discs, this is a handsomely packaged set with the media nested in a hardbacked case that also contains a glossy, thick paper stocked book filled with photos, quotes, anecdotes and a lengthy detailed interview. The first 2 discs in this set are volumes #1 and #2 of their greatest hits compilation 'Pop!' series (41 tracks total). Disc #3 is made up of a plethora of their live performance from 1987-2007. Disc #4 is a DVD that features videos of live performances ('Top of the Pops' type shows). Amusingly most of their early live performance on this DVD are lip-syncs but its fun nonetheless to watch Andy Bell's zany dance performances as he powers through some of his most beloved singles. Good audio mastering throughout on all of the audio discs.

25 years of great music! 10 Sep 2009
By Craig Farlow - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
When I first heard these guys in 1989,The Innocents,I wore the tape out! These guys havent let me down since!I was especially happy to hear "The hardest part"without introductions inthe middle of it.I was a bit surprised that " Alien" was nowhere to be found but the TV gigs were a hoot! My favorite songs writers of all time are the Beatles but after hearing their acoustic versions of some of Clarke&Bells past hits I realized these guys are a close second and they're still around and very prolific! Thanks for all the fun and beautiful songs!
