Others drive on the road they built 18 Jan 2005
By E. Dietz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The title says it all, folks. The audio equivalent of blunt-force trauma. Focused blunt-force trauma, that is; these fellows drew the blueprint for many other bands to follow, most of them not very well. Any idiot can turn up the volume to 11 and shriek over a really aggressive drummer- it takes pathological dedication to make noise this tight and dizzying. "Body Bomb" and "Straight" will jump you, beat you senseless; each successive song will then kick you, rifle through your pockets, steal your jewelry until "455" walks up at the end and finishes you off. And then you'll want to do it again. Bonus points, too, for the 4th or 5th best album cover ever.

Snatch this up before they're all gone- it's out of print.

A Beautiful Listening Experience 29 April 2002
By "onidsnave" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
A punishing disk. stripped down, dirty, and brutal...it loosens fillings, fuses vertebrae, causes nosebleeds...everything I could ask for. In particular, Get Away, SOS, and Body Bomb provide a perfect soundtrack to bludgeoning (this is a good thing!)
A great companion on long stretches of highway.

Unsane get gloomy, but the results are still painful. 11 May 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This isn't your typical Unsane album. The songs are slow, plodding, the drums and vocals buried in the mix, with a guitar strung with screen-door wire. But it works. This is their last recording with original bassist Pete Shore, and the first since the death of original drummer Charlie Ondras. The record is like a funeral and a divorce at the same time: you've just lost someone and you feel another loss coming. It's dark, brooding, and very punishing. Songs like "Broke," "Black Book" and "Get Away" deliver the usual Unsane thwack, but on closer inspection, "Throw it Away" approaches being beautiful, and "S.O.S." is almost an easy-going rock song. Almost. Maybe not pure Unsane, but this record is a post-punk classic.
