Verified Purchase
I have recently purchased the Total Flex bench. I read the few reviews that are available on here and thought it sounded okay.

I will say straight up, the product is good, however there are drawbacks:

Firstly, the resistance will not suit anyone who benches more than 50-60KG, something I wish I'd known beforehand.

Secondly, it's very difficult to buy the Headrest 'add on' (in fact I'm still trying). I've looked at the main website and they offer it as an optional extra when you purchase the bench (something buying direct on Amazon did not do). However buying it separate it seemingly impossible!

The positives:

Easy to put together, very easy to use and does come with some very good workout guides/healthy eating diets.

I've rated it as 3 stars simply because the product can only take you so far. If you're a beginner then this is the tool for you. If you're a gym regular (like me), I would avoid due to the limitations with regards to weight resistance.

High quality construction, easily folds away - no more need for those little free weights taking up space.
Obviously if you're aiming for 1 rep max, this isn't for you, resistance is low for bench press, but I just use a couple of heavy dumbells, and it has more than enough for all the other motions. Im actually planning to weld a bar onto the front to add more free weights to the leg press - in the meantime ive added the 4 red and the other 6 bands to the base to give some good resistance and i can do one leg at a time for more longevity of the device.
Now I've moved to a 15-20 rep 5 set Arnie style 'chase the pump' routine, its fantastic - you get resistance at the top of curls for example, where dumbells would rest on the fore-arm and joint. Pumped for 3 days, literally.
Dropped it one star as its a shame I cant add a tonne more bands to complete the bench press requirements, but its more than enough for every other workout, i cant see me ever needing 46KG per tricep!! Its also deceiving, because, at first you think "This isnt tough" but then 4 sets in, you're struggling

Very pleased, and ideal for small homes where regular gym equipment is too bulky

Best thing, its ready to go, no faffing, which means it gets used, regularly!

P.s. throw the dvd in the bin and use the wall chart!

Easy assembly, sturdy build quality, quick cable change, good dietry advice and well put together workout plans.
Some information on this product is really hard to find but the max weight limit is 300 lbs (136kg) and I'm estimating the resistance of bands each side would be the dumbell equivilant of 5-25 kg which will be fine for someone starting out or regaining fitness.
Having spent many years in gyms in my youth I'm not easily impressed by 'Gimmick' exercise equipment but I'm really impressed by this product.
