Product Description

Product Description

The V752UK video cassette recorder comes with a range of recording options to simplify programming. VideoPlus Deluxe puts an end to recording confusion. It makes it easy to record TV programmes, using short numerical codes (plus codes) shown in TV listings pages to tell the video recorder when to start and stop recording. Up to six programmes can be recorded from six different channels (terrestrial, cable or satellite) without having to switch channels manually. VideoPlus Deluxe also controls selected brands of analogue, cable and satellite set-top boxes as well as normal, terrestrial TV. Selected ONdigital and Sky Digital set-top boxes may also be controlled. The PDC (Programme Delivery Control) feature means you receive signals transmitted directly from TV stations making for accurate recordings even if listed viewing times change. The video will only record when the programme starts, even if times have changed. Many TV stations now offer this service. On-screen programming allows manual programming for setting the timer if you don't have VideoPlus codes on hand. OneTouch Record and a 6-event timer are also available.

Using the Toshiba V752UK is as easy as programming it. Features such as 60-second rewind (E180), Front A/V inputs, rear audio output, index search, NexTView Link and Icon on-screen display make it easy to set up and use. Auto Set-up automatically tunes in all channels in the correct order on TVs and video recorders (BBC 1 on Channel 1 etc.) and suggests solutions to common problems, such as "Check aerial is connected". Auto Clock Checking automatically sets the date and time on video recorders and checks it daily at 8 am. It also automatically corrects for British Summer Time or after a power cut. The recorder has two SCART connectors--the 21-pin universal connecting cable socket system used for audio/video components in Europe, to transmit RGB, composite video, S-VHS, mono and stereo sound.

The playback on the Toshiba V752UK is excellent. With digital audio tracking, plus an automatic head cleaner, it provides sharp high-quality recordings time after time. Playback features include slow motion, still picture and frame advance, plus NTSC playback on a PAL TV.

3.0 out of 5 stars Whirrrr..., 18 Oct 2002
This review is from: Toshiba V752UK Video Recorder (Electronics)
The video recorder and player features are basically fine, but to be honest the mechanism is quite noisy. When playing videos, there's a noticeable whir in the background. Before I had this unit, I owned the Toshiba V705B which gave fair picture performance, but was quite a lot quieter. I appreciate the mechanism has changed to deal with the technology (fast rewind, etc), but if you're a real audio buff you might get irritated by the level of background noise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid, 24 Nov 2002
This review is from: Toshiba V752UK Video Recorder (Electronics)
As videos go, this isn't the sleekest nor the most exciting on the market, but it does what it says on the box. Nicam stereo, one-minute-rewind, indexing and auto-tracking mean the most useful basics are all there. Recording is relatively easy once you can be bothered reading the instructions. Pictures and sound are fine, but let's face it, video's days against DVD's are numbered. As a basic player, I have no complaints - the best thing is that combined with my Toshiba DVD and TV, the remote supplied with the TV works all three boxes. Now that is an advantage!

Just the name alone Toshiba assures you that this is a quality product and that is what you get. The picture quality is clear and sharp as is the sound. And as for the 1 min rewind time (wow. how fast). Well worth the money. If you not after anything flashy this is the boy to get. It has my thumbs up.
