Toshiba Eco Utility
Save laptop power with Eco Utility, a power saving application designed by Toshiba to encourage better energy efficient usage. Have not being using it long, but from a gaming point of view it is excellent. I run fairly light games from it, but for heavier games I use a program called gamebooster. This means the laptop works fine under medium level game.
Has Onkyo speakers which work fine for me. Not used them too high so can't comment on that.
Has a HDMI port which I guess is useful.
Face recognition is fun first time, but I can type in a password a lot quicker.
Comes with lots of stuff pre-installed, most of which I uninstalled.
Came with a sticker next to the webcam, which was a real pain to get off.
Other than all that, a great laptop. At £419, it is a bargin for a i5 with 4gb RAM.

I just bought this laptop as a replacement for my old Toshiba which has lasted a good 5 years. I am expecting the same lifespan with this new model and so far things look promising. The core i5 processor is fast with the 4gb of ram making it very pleasant for multi-tasking. Although I am not a gamer I do like to put a bit of pressure on my machines; playing music, streaming videos, photoshopping and word-processing all at the same time without any trouble.
I find the laptop quite robust-feeling, with an attractive look and pleasant keyboard & mousepad. The speakers I found good for watching videos, youtube etc. For music I generally prefer to plug in external speakers.
If I would have to give any criticism I would mention the usual Toshiba bloatware - which I have uninstalled. The other thing I find a bit strange is the screen - when directly angled towards the user it can seem a bit too bright. A slight angle adjustment fixes this very quickly though.
All in all I must say I am extremely happy with this purchase. Great specs, a reliable brand and attractive laptop for a very competitive price. At £420 it's the best deal I could find on the market at present.

We purchased this laptop as a replacement for a previous, and very slow, older Toshiba. By comparison, and in all areas, it is excellent. For those of a less technical nature, it appears to cover all the bases.
