The Satellite C660's touchpad features multi-touch gesture support, providing an innovative alternative to conventional scrolling and buttons. The touchpad features an advanced, touch-sensitive interface solution that senses the position of a finger or fingers on its surface and recognises pinching, swiping, and rotating motions performed by simply moving your fingers.
The multi-touch touchpad recognises four different finger gestures:
- Pinch Gesture--two-finger pinch delivers zooming functionality in many Windows applications. The two-finger pinch zoom can be used to zoom in or out of photos, maps, or documents.
- Scrolling--two-finger and two-finger reverse scrolling delivers functionality in Windows applications by using two separate fingers in a horizontal or vertical motion anywhere on the touchpad, with the scrolling rate controlled by your finger speed.

The Toshiba Satellite C660-125 is one version of Tosh's new C660 model. You can check the specs of the other versions in the range on Toshiba's web site to see which one is right for you. All the C660s look the same on the outside - the difference is what's inside. For the same price as this 125 version you could get a higher spec laptop from one of the budget brands - but you won't get Toshiba's build quality!
Toshiba has a good reputation for producing quality laptops and the C660-125 is a good balance of features against price. You get a good sized hard drive at 320GB, a reasonable amount of RAM at 3GB and the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium is included - the slight compromise is the processor which is an Intel Celeron T3500. Quite a new addition to Intel's range of processors the T3500 is a dual-core model and is found in a number of current budget-end laptops and performs fine for most everyday tasks.
Amazon's Product Description applies to all C660 models and is worth reading through. The C660-125 is straightforward to get up and running and easy to connect to your network. It comes with pre-installed McAfee anti-virus - which I don't like so I uninstalled and replaced; I also installed TuneUp Utilities 2011 which helped to get the Tosh running nicely and is recommended.
Toshiba's C660-125 is a good entry level laptop which is well made and should hopefully last a good while. You may pay a bit more for Toshiba's reputation, and you do only get a Celeron rather than a full Pentium processor, but I would recommend this laptop based on my good experience of previous Toshiba laptops, and it is ideal for students and everyday surfing.

Delivered swiftly. This machine is simple, attractive, robust and surprisingly light given its solid feel. So far I have had no issues setting it up with all my antivirus & Windows optimisers etc (Eset & ASO). The stereo speakers are a little soft but sound quality is OK. The webcam works fine for Skype.
I had a shortlist of about 10 machines and this one (at the £300 odd it was priced at) came along and blew them all away. You can VERY easily do a lot worse for a lot more money.

This laptop is very good value for the amount of money that you're paying. The screen has brilliant colours, however, the CPU is visibly slower than top-of-the-range laptops and as a result, there is sometimes a lag between when you choose to run a programme, and when it actually appears in a window. Strangely, video quality is very good, and there are no issues with HD graphics and 3D rendering.
Nonetheless, can't complain for the price - it's cheaper than an iPad.
