This is the REGZA XV503D series – a true masterpiece of technical innovation. It is the latest addition to our REGZA collection of award-winning HD Ready LCD televisions and is packed with all the features you were looking for and a few you didn’t know you needed.

FULL HD Ready 1080p

High Definition television offers the highest quality picture currently available for home entertainment. High Definition screen images are broadcast with either 720 or 1080 vertical lines of picture information, compared to the current PAL standard definition output of 576 lines. This increase in picture information is important to maintain a good picture quality on modern, larger screen televisions, with images stretched over much larger areas.

REGZA XV Series models are 1080p Full HD Ready, with a 16:9 format panel processing a screen resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. All screen sizes offer high definition images made up of more than 2 million pixels and are perfect for seeing all the extra detail offered by high definition broadcasts and up-scaled DVD.

Our much acclaimed Active Vision LCD picture processing technology has been improved in its ability to enhance core elements of your television picture:

Colour - MPEG noise reduction and 10-BIT colour gamut processing produce screen images with smoother colour gradation and reduced ‘blocking’. This effect is most noticeable on large areas of similar shade and is caused by the decompression of MPEG images.

Detail – high and standard definition images are produced with increased detail levels compared to conventional LCD televisions. Complex up-scaling technology utilises every single pixel and de-interlacing technology removes jagged edges on fine lines and intricate detail.

Movement – The motion blur normally associated with fast moving objects on conventional LCD screens, is almost completely removed thanks to our Real Speed Progressive technology. Objects now flash smoothly across the screen with little distortion, an improvement to be appreciated by sports fans and gamers alike.

Contrast – Active Vision LCD constantly monitors the contrast level required by the original signal and adjusts the output accordingly. This system works in harmony with our Dynamic Contrast technology to dramatically increase the depth of black in dark scenes, whilst retaining enough highlight to maintain all the detail.

ENHANCED DETAIL

Getting the best picture detail requires the right balance between brightness and contrast, too much or too little of either is a problem. Our Dynamic Contrast technology automatically adjusts the LCD panel backlight, depending on the level of brightness required by the original signal.

Dimming the backlight enables the system to reproduce fine detail and render dark scenes more realistically, with blacks having much greater depth. Increasing backlight brightness for scenes requiring more colour, produces more vibrant images with a greater intensity. The process is almost instantaneous, easily coping with fast scene changes, whilst retaining the contrast levels essential for good detail.

LUMA SENS

As clever as Dynamic Contrast is, until now it didn’t take into account room lighting conditions. The CV series possess Luma Sens technology that improves picture quality whilst reducing power consumption. It detects the level of ambient light and adjusts the brightness levels of the LCD backlight. In a darkened room it will reduce the power to the backlight, whilst allowing it to dynamically alter the contrast as required by individual scenes. You get the contrast you need for perfect screen images in any lighting conditions and you save energy too; a definite win-win situation

PRECISE COLOUR CONTROL

We know many of you like to change the colour performance of your screen to match your personal requirements, which is why we developed our 3D Colour Management technology. This allows you to ‘fine tune’ the brightness, hue and saturation levels of six colours until you achieve the look you want.

HDMI CONNECTIVITY

It is now accepted that the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI™) is the industry standard for connecting modern audio visual equipment, having superseded SCART. It allows transmission of uncompressed digital video and multi-channel audio content through a single cable, with information transfer rates far higher than with previous connections. The use of a single cable greatly simplifies the installation of home entertainment systems and ensures the best quality picture and sound reproduction. All CV series models have three HDMI™ connections, allowing you to connect to more than one HD source without having to continually disconnect and reconnect different pieces of your equipment. In future it is expected all digital equipment, HD televisions and games consoles will feature HD! MI™; it is essential you have multiple connections to future-proof your television.

POWERFUL AUDIO PERFORMANCE

We understand that sound plays a huge part in the enjoyment of everything we watch on television. This is why we put as much effort into the audio quality produced by our CV series models as we did their picture quality.

The XV series delivers an audio performance every bit as impressive as its image quality, thanks in part to SRS WOW audio technology. It combines class-leading technologies which improve the dynamic performance of compressed digital audio content. It elevates and expands the size of the stereo image to take on huge proportions compared to the physical size of the speakers doing the work.

Usefully the position of the virtual sound field is lifted to ear level, the optimal speaker position. Bass performance is improved and the sound stage is altered to remove the spatial clues the brain relies on to inform it where a sound is coming from. This has the effect of fooling you into believing sounds are all around you, rather than just in front. The overall effect is one of a truly powerful audio performance that takes you to heart of the action.

AUDIO DESCRIPTION

The XV series models have an integrated tuner capable of providing Audio Description to digital programmes supporting the feature. Audio Description is an essential aid for anyone with visual impairment, watching Freeview Digital Broadcasts

Audio Description provides an additional narrative between programme or film dialogue, describing all significant aspects of the scene on screen. It describes anything important to the understanding of the story, like facial expressions, clothing or even who various characters are.

DIGITAL TUNER

It’s what you want; a great choice of channels, digital quality images and sound in widescreen format with innovative interactive services.

The integrated tuner in the CV series models gives you access to Freeview, the terrestrial digital broadcast service received through your existing TV aerial**. The digital signal delivers high quality video and audio without the interference and ghosting associated with conventional analogue signals.

There’s no end to the entertainment; Freeview currently offers over 40 TV channels and more than 20 digital radio stations; a superb digital text service and an advanced electronic programme guide.

The easy-to-use on-screen menu delivers a wealth of useful information including:

GAME MODE

Models in the XV series have an exciting new feature for the gamers amongst you – Game Mode; a process that bypasses much of the picture processing technology required to enhance TV programmes and films. This results in reduction in the delay between you moving the joystick on your controller and the response you see on the screen, whilst also offering 1:1 Pixel mapping known as exact scan. Meaning you get the full image displayed on the screen – ideal for playing games online giving you the edge over the competition who don’t have the full picture.

FULL POWER DOWN

In response to the concerns expressed by many consumers who would prefer to turn their television off completely, we have fitted all CV series models with an On/Off switch. Although all models are extremely energy efficient, consuming only 0.9 watts in stand-by mode, we take our responsibility to the environment seriously and will always do everything we can to minimise the impact our products have on our surroundings.
