Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

A perfect option if you’re looking to buy your first 1080p full HD LCD TV, the REGZA LV series combines a solid feature set with attractive pricing. Each model offers full HD 1080p resolution and a striking, high gloss design. Toshiba’s Active Vision picture processing is included, providing high quality colour, detail and contrast for an improved picture. The REGZA LV also features 3 HDMI ports for easy connection to Blu-ray players, games consoles and other devices simultaneously. USB connectivity allows you to view photos directly on the screen.

Digital TV

Between now and the end of 2012 the UK will be turning off all old “analogue” TV transmitters and switching your TV signal to “digital”. Digital TV offers new ways to enjoy your TV. You will have a greater choice of TV channels as well as access to additional features and services which will enhance your TV-watching experience.

When the digital switch happens in your area, your older analogue TVs will no longer be able to pick up a signal. To keep your normal TV service running, you will need to convert your TVs to digital before your area’s switchover date.

Switching your home to digital is easy. All you need to do is purchase digital tuner and connect it to your analogue TV or alternatively, you can replace it with a new digital TV. Not to mention 24 digital radio stations, better picture and sound quality and all those interactive features when you press the red button on your remote.

Toshiba REGZA LV series TV with Active Vision LCD

Active Vision

Active Vision LCD is our high performance picture processing system. Active Vision LCD has been designed to produce high quality, high definition images by enhancing core elements of a television picture including detail, colour, movement and contrast.

Detail: Images are now spread over a larger number of smaller pixels compared to a conventional LCD TV.

Colour: Active Vision reproduces colours with more tones than conventional LCD televisions, producing images with reduced banding for a smoother, more realistic colour progression.

Movement: Picture sharpness in fast moving scenes is increased, with a reduction in the jagged edges often seen on lines and fine detail.

Contrast: The continuous monitoring and automatic adjustment of contrast, enhances detail and increases the ability of the television to represent subtle shade changes.

Toshiba Dynamic Contrast

Dynamic Contrast

Dynamic Contrast decreases the TV’s backlight brightness in dark scenes and increases brightness in highly-lit scenes. Getting the best picture detail requires the right balance between brightness and contrast, too much or too little of either is a problem.

Toshiba’s Dynamic Contrast technology automatically adjusts the LCD panel backlight, depending on the level of brightness required by the original signal. Dimming the backlight enables the system to reproduce fine detail and render dark scenes more realistically, with blacks having much greater depth. Increasing backlight brightness for scenes requiring more colour, produces more vibrant images with a greater intensity.

HDMI

Put simply, HDMI is the new industry standard for the connection of home entertainment equipment.

High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) connections between TV, DVD and other digital equipment are gradually replacing older SCART connections and make it possible to deliver high definition pictures and sound to your HD Ready TV. The REGZA LV Series has 3 HDMI connections, making it possible to connect 3 HD sources (satellite TV, DVD, Laptops, games consoles etc) to your TV at any one time.

    A Good Cheap Option. 22 Sep 2010
For its price this T.V is a very good option for those wanting to get a good visual experience on a budget. The image is crisp and clear and when using a HDMI input the image is just what you would expect from a 1080p output. Also it is not commented on the stats but the T.V does come with in built Freeview so setting up and getting the set going is a breeze and simple for anyone to use.

The only problem with the T.V is the sound quality in places. It is not a problem for regular T.V watching, but does seem to suffer when a lot more demanding audio is being put on the sound output. For example, loud musical scores or lots of heavy banging and crashing. However this T.V will be able to easily function with a surround sound system to help improve the sound quality, and if you are that concerned about the sound quality then buying this T.V might leave you with enough left over to invest in a good quality speaker system.

For those though who just want to watch T.V and maybe do a bit of gaming, this cheap offer is a stable and assured offering for any home. And any of its short comings can be easily solved.

This TV the Toshiba 32LV713B 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p Digital LCD TV is great value for money you get a lot of extras ie Scart HDMI x 4 Freeview very easy to tune with the inbuilt scanner/tuner. Great sound and the picture excelent. The BEST thing for me and WHAT SOLD IT ABOVE ALL other similar TVs is that it recognises and plays older Video/DVD equipment. I had a Panasonic Veria but it would not play my DVD/Video properly, it played it with a GREEN SCREEN! I bought new scarts and tried every thing to try and change it but it did not work. I also tried an LG 32" TV the same problem with the Green Scren argh!

So to sum up you get a lot of tv extras usually associated with higher spec price range TV's ie in the £400 to £500 range.

IT PLAYS OLDER EQUIPMENT VERY IMPORTANT as you dont want to upgrade DVD playesr etc at extra. HIGHLY RECOMENDED
