LED Display Technology: LED (light-emitting diode) TVs are actually a type of LCD TV. LCD HDTVs use standard compact fluorescent tubes to illuminate the picture. LED HDTVs, on the other hand, replace those fluorescent tubes with backlighting technology. LED TVs might therefore say "LCD display" on the packaging--this is perfectly normal. I got the white version of this TV/DVD combi (model number 32D3454DB, which still doesn't appear to be available from Amazon) to go in the kitchen. Due to the price - and the fact that it doesn't have a 1080p screen - I wasn't expecting the picture to be amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's more than adequate for kitchen viewing. I doubt you'd notice any difference with a 1080p screen at this 32-inch size - unless, that is, you intend to use the TV as a computer monitor, in which case you'd probably be better advised to go for full HD.

The colour of the white version was one of the attractions of this set for me, while the two other main attractions came built-in: Wi-Fi and a DVD player. Though I tend to buy blu-ray discs nowadays, I still have a sizeable collection of DVDs, and this set means I don't need to faff around with a separate player or clutter up the kitchen with another gadget. The player means the back of the TV is chunkier and bulgier than modern LED TVs, but it's virtually no price to pay for having a DVD player so conveniently tucked away out of sight. Initially I was slightly put off by the fact that there are only two HDMI ports, but I suppose you're saving one port by having a video player built-in. The included Wi-Fi is a godsend, eliminating the need for yet another gadget. Although Toshiba's online offerings come up lacking compared to some other major TV manufacturers, the main ones I wanted are there: YouTube, BBC iPlayer and a web browser.

For placing somewhere like a kitchen or a bedroom, this TV is a nice, affordable choice. The built-in Wi-Fi and DVD player make it a convenient single-unit option, and the principal thing that could really do with improvement is the range of online apps.

I got the white version of this TV and to be honest there is nothing " smart " about it, it comes with limited apps and gives you no options to add other, I bought it primarily to watch Amazon prime but can't add the app it doesn't even have ITV player, should have stayed with Samsung.

Excellent all round really! It's quite slow and the picture quality could be better but I normally watch everything in HD when I can so for the price, I couldn't ask for anything more.

If this wasn't the case then I would've marked this with five stars.
