5.0 out of 5 stars Sharp 18 Jun 2012

I bought this as a replacement for my 32" LG. The picture is wonderful and the sound clear and crisp. I was amazed at the ease of setup. I am now in my 60's and not the most proficient in operating the latest technology, however this was so straight forward that I was watching a channel within minutes. The price was unbelievable! Under 200 pounds and delivered free. I cannot fault it for an everyday television. the USB port was a bonus with photographs right there on the TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars really good value 20 Jun 2012

Bought this as replacement for full HD set my son smashed, the price is brilliant & the picture is better than on the 2yr old full HD one it replaced. It took about 10 min to get out of box & fix up,found 100's of channels in a few minuites on arial connection, virgin HD box connected & started instantly.Although not full HD, 720P instead of 1020 the picture to my eyes looks much better than old 1020.Quite a slim screen with stand in shiny black finish it looks smart. One little niggle as with all toshiba's the shut down time is set quite short as standard, but you can change this in the menu,i cancelled it completely if i don't want to watch i am capable of turning it off myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy 8 May 2012
By yaleey
I originally bought this TV around 3 weeks ago. Everything was fine until I connected a X-Box console and a Blu Ray player and I got a big spark come from the back of the set while watching TV. After this the TV was completely unresponsive and would not switch on atall, even after the fuse was changed. However I have manged to get a replacement from Amazon extremely quickly and hassle free and everything is working perfectly. The sound and picture are both amazingly good, even without a HDMI cable which I bought separately. Watching football on the TV is pure joy, as is watching Blu Ray films. However my only fault, if I am being really fussy, is that the remote control is ridiculously big.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Budget TV 18 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase
I bought this as a TV for my room in a student house, mainly for my Xbox and general procrastination! At first glance it looks like a smart unit, well built with a decent remote and some rather fancy touch buttons on the set.

The picture is excellent, very well balanced colours and the blacks are nicely defined with plenty of depth in the picture, no washed out look that you find on some TVs. There is little motion blur on fast paced viewing like Formula 1. The picture from the Xbox is also excellent (I use a 5 HDMI cable I bought from Amazon), Halo 4 and Forza look fantastic, as well as pretty much every other game. With my laptop connected its the same story, the picture is nicely reproduced with excellent scale. I honestly can't see much difference in picture to my parents 700 Sony bought 2 years ago (it is also HD Ready with similar ppi).

The sound is average, I am not a fan of backwards facing sound bars, especially as mine faces into a small cavity. The sound can be a little tinny and there is little to no bass. However once connected to my Hi-Fi the sound is fine, I would suggest using an external sound system to achieve better results. Having said this, you may not find much different on high end models as most companies seem to be going in for rear sound bars in an unfortunate case of style over function.

There are plenty of connections on the back, 2 HDMI, Scart, USB, Headphone Jack, A/V Composite to name a few. The menus are simple to navigate, changing source and channel is easy and the TV guide is quite good for a budget model.

Now for the niggles, there are only a few and are hardly deal breakers for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars old dogs, new tricks... 1 Oct 2012

I'm an almost 70 year old woman who ordered this television in the hope I could find someone to set it up for me.
I'm now a very smug old woman and am delighted with the Television which I can see without the aid of opera glasses.
I didn't need to find a ' man who can', instead I read the very simple to follow instructions, and, within 10 minutes I had an up and running television !!!!!
I am over the moon with the picture, the sound quality, and unlike a few, I love the remote control because with slightly arthritic fingers, it is very easy to use.
Thank you Amazon for getting it to me a day before the due date, I have nothing but praise for all concerned and would highly recommend this product.

A TV perfect for my living room. I could not wish for a more a more clearly defined picture and a volume that is clear but not too harsh. The large remote control is simple to use and as it is rather large, is not easy to lose!
