The EL LED TV supports a high definition 720p resolution for great-looking, highly detailed pictures. As an HD Ready TV, it's able to display HD images from any HD source. An advanced backlighting system guarantees new levels of picture clarity by constantly adapting to the images on the screen. Colours are made more vibrant and contrast between light and dark is more pronounced, providing dramatically improved performance, whilst overall energy consumption and the thickness of the TV is also reduced. Response times are also much quicker than conventional CCFL LCD TVs, so fast moving image quality is improved.
With a built-in Freeview tuner, you'll be able to experience the easiest way to enjoy digital TV for free. There are up to 50 digital TV channels and 24 radio stations. No subscription, no contract, no fuss - with a Freeview tuner you can be sure your TV is ready for the digital switchover, allowing you to enjoy your favourite shows in digital quality for years to come.
The built-in USB connectivity provides an easy way to play your compatible videos, music and photos directly via your TV. Simply plug in a compatible USB drive to the TV and select the file you want to play.
Never miss your favourite shows again - the EL series includes a built-in electronic programme guide that shows the digital TV programmes scheduled over the next 7 days. Plan your viewing in advance or browse the full range of Freeview channels easily - no listings magazines needed.
The included HDMI connectivity makes it easy to connect to Blu-ray and DVD players, gaming consoles and many other devices via a single cable, easily allowing you to enjoy the best HD content available. Need a larger screen for your laptop? The PC input allows connection to laptop or PC so your TV doubles as a PC monitor.

This very nice tv has great picture and sound for a good price. If you're looking for a decent sized tv for your bedroom or for gaming then this is perfect. The stand that comes with it has to be screwed on manually, but it's made of metal for extra sturdiness. A quality product.

Good budget bedroom tv,

If you're after a small tv for bedroom use then this is definitely worth a look. Visually the TV is pretty good with a nicely finished glossy case and slim depth. On the back are plenty of sockets to connect DVDs, consoles etc. The on-screen menus are logical, and you don't really need to look at the manual (which is a good thing). Once connected up and switched on, the TV guides you through installation and I'm happy to report it was all very simple. Fine tuning the colour, contrast and brightness is also very easy (and worth doing - it's all a bit garish out of the box). There are some negatives though. The instruction manual is awful. They must have paid a work experience kid to photocopy it, but only after he'd translated it from whatever language it was originally written in - best off just leave it in the box. Rather annoyingly the aerial socket protrudes out of the back of the tv - by time you've actually connected the cable it's impossible to push it right back against a wall. A bit of a pain if you've wall mounted it. Last is the sound. It is tinny - small tv = small speakers = small sound. Nothing to be done about it, but you have been warned. All in all a good product with a few niggles which knock it down from 5 stars.

Not Good Enough,
This review is from: Toshiba 22EL833B 22-inch Widescreen HD Ready LED TV with Freeview (Electronics)
I purchased this Toshiba TV after reading many reviews on various TVs. This Toshiba seemed to fit the bill and was very attractively priced. My biggest gripe is the very poor sound quality, it is very harsh and tinny and though maximum bass is selected, has very little effect. The response to the remote is very sluggish, it takes several seconds before you know if the operation is successful. This TV also becomes active of its own accord during the early hours which, as it is in the bedroom, is quite annoying. The red/green power light starts flashing and the remote becomes unresponsive. The main power has to be interupted to resolve the situation. All in all I suppose you get what you pay for!
